Spain is such a rich country filled with a plethora of activities and places to visit.  Have a stay in the Canary Islands or why not give La Manga Club a try.

La Manga Club is a sumptuous sports and leisure retreat.  I say sumptuous because that’s really the only way to describe it; staying there is like holidaying in the lap of luxury.  The grounds and accommodation are beautiful, the food is delicious and I cannot recommend it enough.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  La Manga Club is in Murcia, which is in the south-east of Spain.  It’s on the Costa Cálida, also known as the “warm coast”.  I hope that gives you some idea of what the weather is like; the Mediterranean climate is warm, sunny and balmy… perfect for spending lots of time outdoors.

A Sports Getaway

And spending lots of time outdoors is what’s best to do at La Manga Club.  There are so many different sports to try but the golf is particularly impressive; the weather is ideal all year round, there are three 18 hole courses and the courses are always in perfect condition.  If you’re not a great golfer you can get lessons from their golf academy — in fact, even if you’re a brilliant golfer you can get lessons from their golf academy as they teach all standards.

But if you’d rather pull teeth than play golf there’s also ping pong, rugby, crazy golf, mountain biking, swimming, tennis and squash — all of which have top of the range facilities in them to play.  It’s certainly a bit different from your local leisure centre.

The Best Place to Relax

But maybe, like me, you’re not really into sports.  There is so much to do at La Manga Club that isn’t sports related.  The spa is utterly incredible.  It takes up two floors and is just beautiful — you’re slightly awed when you walk in.  It has everything you could ask for in a spa such as saunas and steam rooms, Jacuzzis and a relaxation area, but it also has a gym and an enormous swimming pool.

There’s also 13 treatment rooms in the spa, offering a serious range of pampering.  You can get massages, a series of body treatments, facials, manicures, pedicures or a mix of all of them.  It’s entirely possible to spend your entire holiday being looked after and indulged from head to toe — sounds perfect to me.

Doing it for the Kids

But it’s not just for grown-ups — La Manga Club is set up perfectly to either enjoy time with your whole family or let the kids play whilst the grown-ups do their own thing.  There is a children’s swimming pool in the spa and lessons in pretty much every sport La Manga Club does as part of the junior academy.  Or the kids can enjoy themselves at the Junior Club whilst the parents relax on their own.

Then there’s lots of things you can do together as a family.  The countryside around La Manga Club is in pristine condition and a gorgeous place to go for walks.  The nearby Calblanque Nature Park has delightful mountains and beaches, and a huge variety of wildlife.  If you travel to the nearby cities, Cartagena and Murcia, you can go shopping or take part in any of the festivals taking part there.

And, as you’d expect from such a high class resort, the food is top quality, the nightlife is exciting and every type of accommodation, from the villas to the hotels, is magnificent.

If a holiday at La Manga Club sounds like it could be for you there are lots of different La Manga rentals to enjoy.  La Manga really does cater for everyone’s needs and you are sure to have a fantastic holiday!
