Our family received a complimentary stay at Hotel Sorella during the GoHouston! Travel Campaign hosted by New Creative Writing and Social Media Marketing.
Hotel Sorella, Houston. When our 4th of July plans were canceled this year, our family had no idea what we were going to do to celebrate Independence Day. Fortunately, we were presented with an opportunity to join 8 other wonderful travel blogging families to celebrate the 4th in style in Houston’s CityCentre. Staying at the delightful and charming Hotel Sorella, we were able to regale in splendor and luxury abound.
From the moment you enter Hotel Sorella, you will notice the care the designers took with the decor. With graphite colored ceramic floors to reflect the natural lighting from outdoors to the dark hardwood flooring in the guest rooms, a detail was not missed when planning this hotel. One of our favorite decors was the hallway. Yes, the hallway. No boring patterns, dizzy colors or shoddy paint jobs for this property. Even the hallways give you something pleasurable to gaze as you make your way around the hotel.
THE GUEST ROOMS
Hotel Sorella offers 244 guest rooms including 30 suites to enjoy your stay while in Houston. The guest rooms are spacious with plenty of room to navigate around without feeling cramped in anyway. The spacing between the beds and TV viewing area is greater than the spacing experienced in similar hotels. The beds are comfy to gain a good nights sleep. Even though the goose down pillows are a bit more fluffed for our taste. Your head rises too high preventing a comfortable lying position when using the pillows. The bathrooms offer a shelving area to place your toiletries leaving the counter top near the sink free for other uses. If you are traveling with your whole family, we would suggest upgrading to one of the properties gorgeous and spacious suites.
FITNESS AND SPA
Well-being is an important component to any Abundant Journeys trip. Hence, we had to review the fitness and spa area offered at Hotel Sorella. Located on the 3rd floor of the hotel, the fitness and spa area is accessed using your guest room key card. The fitness area offers treadmills, free weights and a small side room to maybe take in some yoga. Overlooking the plaza, you are sure to get a workout complete without boredom. For the LifeSpa, we recommend advanced reservations to secure your spa service to insure staff availability.
Well-being Tip: Request a room on the 3rd floor to make it easier to not miss your workouts while traveling.
Each morning during our stay, we enjoyed a complimentary continental breakfast near the lobby area of the property. The fruit is succulent (pictured above), the pastries are made fresh and my favorite, the blueberry muffins were enough to fill you until lunch time.
Given its prime location in the middle of Houston’s CityCentre, we could not recommend this property more. Just steps outside the hotel door, you may enjoy upscale shopping and fine dining as well as take in a movie at Studio Movie Grille connected to Hotel Sorella via SkyWalk on the 3rd level. Want a more simple dining option? Head south on Town & Country for a 10 minute walk to SmashBurger where Clover will take great care of you.
