Living life ‘no holds barred’ is the only way to live without regret. “What is the meaning of this?,” you ask. “Am I to live life with no rules, no restrictions? What are you saying exactly?” Living life ‘no holds barred’ does not mean you negate all common sense. It does not mean you go all willy-nilly forsaking laws, values and moral reasoning. Living life ‘no holds barred’ means knowing life will bring you lemons and you will choose to make lemonade. It means you will go through life knowing life is not meant to be perfect, another human is not designed to make you happy, yet you have the tools to cope with life’s roller coaster of a ride. Taking the good, with the bad and ugly to create your own life without regret. It means you will make conscience decisions and accept the consequences without placing blame on others.

Life will throw a monkey wrench at you. Maybe several, one heavier than the next just like it did for Cora, Carmen and Kate in Elaine Mingus’ new novel, Without Regret, that we introduced to you last week. It may take years after a fallout, like with these childhood friends, to come back together again. We don’t know, but what we can learn from these 3 ladies is the fact life is best lived without regret.

Since we introduced this book to you last week, we learned it has been downloaded nearly 2,000 times. Probably more than that by now. It is touching the hearts of many. We told you it was a good read. And now others are singing the same sentiments. We searched around for a few reviews to bring to you. Just in case you were still on the fence about getting this novel on your e-reader.

On Amazon, one reader going by the name Mouserrano, left this review:

This is a beautiful book & written very well. The characters are very relatable and so are their stories. Once I started this book, I wanted to keep reading & not put down. I look forward to more books by Elaine Mingus.

On Twitter, we’ve noticed friends of Elaine’s posting ‘shout-outs’ like this one from Traci Shannon:

Heck, we even noticed the e-book was featured over on Money Saving Mom. Nice!

Have you read the book yet? Did you leave a review on Amazon? Learning to Dance in the Reign wrote a blog review:

Life is tough. It takes crazy turns. Dreams are crushed. We must be able to keep trusting God even when we feel He is taking everything away from us. He DOES have a plan even when we can’t see it.

Hope Heart Home blogger wrote:

This novel leaves you laughing, crying, and believing that all things are possible when you put your trust in a great big God. If you like good, clean fiction I recommend this one.

If you’ve been searching for a book to add to your summer reading list, then this is one we highly recommend. Head over to Amazon to download it today.

And lastly, it is always interesting to know why an author chooses to write a novel. Elaine tells us in her very own words in her article, The Real Reason I Wrote A BookShe has wanted to be an author since elementary school and she finally wrote because, “I wrote it because I was frustrated with life“. Wait! There is more. It’s best to head over to read her article. And while you are at it, read an interview with Elaine on Dancing in His Reigns to gain more insights into this budding author’s mind.

Did you read the book? What are your thoughts? If you have not read the book, grab it today! Tell us what you think.

  1. I haven’t read the book, ut I know too well some of the curves life can throw you through my best friend from childhood, who has survived one cancer, several miscarriages, is estranged from her daughter and is now battling a deadly cancer. We never would have imagined anything like this growing up.
