1. Manchester Valentine’s Market

Getting a gift for your partner often proves to be a difficulty. I think many of us are already tired of the traditional pink and red teddy bears and chocolate. If that’s the case with you and you are looking for something more original, consider coming to the Manchester Valentines Market. It will take place in the Picadilly Gardens on the 11th and 12th of February.

Featuring stalls from independent traders and crafts people, the market will be filled with amazing and original gift ideas. From handmade cards to crafts to artisan foods, it will all be there.

2. Restaurants

Booking a restaurant in a new city is often proving difficult. You simply don’t know what is good. With that in mind, here is a short guide to some of the top restaurants that should definitely make the top of your list.

Michael Caines in Abode is one of the new restaurants but also one that is making a name for itself very quickly. The stylish but modern interior makes this place a great setting for a Valentines dinner. They also have a 7 course deal for the day worth checking out.

Vermillion and Cinnabar is a three story Thai restaurant and bar offering an irresistible blend of exotic dishes. One of the definite highlights of the place is their original cocktails menu.

Beetham Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the UK (and by far in the World) houses a Cloud 23 restaurant on the 23rd floor and offers an astounding view of the city, which looks fabulous at night.

3. Events

If you want to do something more than just a dinner in the evening, consider one of the following events.

Teacup and cakes on Thomas Street is offering a valenTeaTime afternoon tea throughout the day. In the evening they will also hold a Fabulous Five Course Couples Fest.

Hotel Chocolat is introducing a special, Valentine’s Day range available only on the day. If you want to celebrate the day with a stylish glamour, the place is a definitely must go to.

Valentines is without a doubt a super special day for the lovers out there. And, Manchester with all its wonderful restaurants, locations and places of interest, tourist attractions and general atmosphere, not to mention the people, is by far one of the best choices for a short Valentines city break.
