Our family received complimentary Smashburger Gift Certificates during the GoHouston! Travel Campaign hosted by New Creative Writing and Social Media Marketing.
Over the 4th of July weekend, we experience an amazing weekend getaway to Houston’s City Centre. Smashburger is a ten-minute leisurely stroll down the road of Hotel Sorella, our home for the weekend. After we checked into Hotel Sorella, we thought we would have the opportunity to watch the hit blockbuster sequel, Monster’s University at Studio Movie Grille CityCentre. However, it was sold out for the rest of the day. Go figure! Still a bit starved from our road tip down to Houston, we decided to head over to give Smashburger a try.
Now when you are starving, trying something new can be a test to one’s taste buds. Well, Smashburger turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Upon arrival, we were staring at the wall menu so intently it must have been obvious we were newbies. In comes Clover! Ms. Clover rescued us from our hunger delirium by navigating us through the menu very quickly and placing our orders. 2 children’s meals: cheeseburgers and regular fried, 2 custom cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and 1 Mushroom and Swiss burger (picture above) without fries.
We took a seat on the outdoor patio to wait for our food to be delivered to our tables. Enjoying the sunshine and recovered from a few hours in the car, we took our first bite of our meals. When Clover kept mentioning these “egg buns”, we were all a bit skeptical. “Just how exactly does an egg bun taste”, I thought. Well, an egg bun has the softness of sour dough bread and a delicious flavor to match. It practically made the mushroom and swiss melt in my mouth. The sweet potato fries (pictured below) were not crinkled fried, but they were not shoestring fries either. Neither were they greasy, but great to the taste.
I imagine you are wondering what is on top of the burger pictured above. It is haystack onions served on top of the BBQ, Bacon and Cheddar Smashburger. We must admit, we enjoyed our visit to Smashburger Town & Country in Houston’s CityCentre so much that we visited the Smashburger when we returned home. We just had to get it out of system since the food was so delicious.
Overall, we recommend Smashburger for a good alternative to your typical fast food restaurants. It offers menu selections for the whole family. Not just burgers, but salads, chicken sandwichs, milkshakes and more. Take a peek at Smashburger’s menu to plan your next visit.
