Our family received complimentary movie tickets during the GoHouston! Travel Campaign hosted by New Creative Writing and Social Media Marketing.
Studio Movie Grill CityCentre. Hopefully you have been following our GoHouston 4th of July Weekend Celebration with our amazing sponsors. If so, then you are aware we attempted to watch Despicable Me II at the Studio Movie Grill CityCentre on the 4th. However, the movie was so red hot it was sold out all day long except for front row seating so we headed over to Smashburger instead.
The best part of the Studio Movie Grill experience is not having to search for seats and not having to leave the movie for snacks if you get hungry. When you buy your tickets, the attendant will ask you to take a look at the computer screen in front of the register. The seating chart will appear for you to scout out your desired seats. Tell the attendant and then your tickets will be printed with the assigned seating on them. How wonderful! We are seriously considering never going back to a regular movie theater for red hot movies again. If there is a hint of a chance the theater will be only half full or less, then maybe we will consider a regular theatre again.
With tickets in hand, we headed into the theatre to find our seats. It was jammed packed in the theatre as we expected for Despicable Me II. The seats are oversized chairs with plenty of space underneath for anyone with long legs. The only issue within the theatre are the fact the chairs are so close together you cannot get in and out of them easily. The armrest were overlapping and stuck together we were so squeezed in together. We imagine it is only due to the fact this particular movie was so popular. Perhaps the theatre took the opportunity to add in a few more seats to accommodate us all. It did not cramp our style though. Once we were snug in our seats we were just fine.
It was lunch time so we were ready to eat. Once you decide on your meal, you hit the little red button in front of you for an attendant to take your order. If you are not hungry, you can simply order a typical movie snack. The whole point we are trying to make is the fact you do not have to interrupt your movie for a snack break. You do not have to stand in concession lines to get a snack. It is a dream movie experience.
