Unique Waterfall Restaurant at Villa Escudero, Philippines
Designed especially for the nature-lovers, this amazing restaurant offers unique experience – having meals on the real waterfall. When I first saw the pictures of this place, I could not believe my eyes – the tables are located just in the bottom of the large waterfall that flows from the high threshold. It has been an apple of my eye for quite a long time. Now I certainly know that nothing can be more pleasant and refreshing than a cool natural bath after a tasty Philippian dinner.
Be prepared to get your feet wet, it’s very pleasant! You will love it from the very first step into the clear water. It made my day! And, after dinner, I have soaked in warm water in the sun right on the slope of the waterfall.
Meals are served on the special tables made of bamboo; the level of water on the “floor” is just several inches, so dining is absolutely safe. No worries, the food itself is dry. Slippery ground is the only thing that you have to watch while dining in such a place. It might be a perfect restaurant for a family or beloved couple, cause this is where the real peace exists! You can enjoy a simple traditional meal which is popular among Filipino peasants. Local cuisine is the best supplement to the general atmosphere; here you may try fish, rice, curry meats, green mango, tapioca dessert, cool tropical drinks etc. Personally I can notice that their mango was the best mango I have ever tried. Moreover, owners have done all the possible to provide the relaxation – apart from eating and enjoying the views of the waterfall, the visitors will experience a light and pleasant local music.
People love Escudero for the special luxury of accommodation; I mean not those “glamorous style” hotels, but the real wealth that only nature can own. Delicious proficiency of cuisine will not leave anyone impatient.
This is a truly unique dining opportunity, never heard of another place that would masterfully offer a similar experience to its visitors. Labassin is not just a restaurant – this is a real outdoor adventure.
Pancit Bihon at Villa Escudero Waterfall Restaurant
Philippine cuisine is a unique mix of Malay, Spanish and Chinese culinary traditions, and, as elsewhere in the region, the most important role is given to the rice. There is no better way to know about the cuisine of any country then from your own experience – travel and try the local cuisine by yourself!
I couldn’t stand from trying those traditional Philippine rice noodles in the restaurant by the waterfall. And I must admit that they tasted better than ever. Everything was ideally roasted – the smell was delicious, I hardly refrained myself from tasting half-done meal while I saw the cook preparing that appetizing staff. This is a mix of rice vermicelli, meat and various vegetables. The traditional drinks following pancit bihon are all kinds of soft drinks, coconut milk, “beech” and local fruit juices. Beyond doubt, pancit is unique in Philippines, and nothing can be better than tasting it in a good company.
Philippine culinary experience is definitely more than just tasting all kinds of delicious meals – it is a journey to remember! Having tried the local cuisine in the waterfall restaurant no one can ever forget the beauty of the wild nature and hospitability of the people.
